Annual Profections
asterwise_get_western_profections
Annual profections for a birth chart and a date: the activated whole-sign house, its sign and the lord of the year. Also gives where the year lord sits natally and the next twelve profection years. Rule: the Ascendant sign is the 1st house at age 0 and the activated sign moves one sign forward every birthday, so at age N the house is (N mod 12) + 1.

What it covers
Hellenistic time-lord technique on the tropical chart. Needs the birth time (the count starts from the Ascendant). Lords are the traditional rulers (Ptolemy, Tetrabiblos I.17): no Uranus, Neptune or Pluto.
Workflow
BEFORE: asterwise_get_western_natal — see the Ascendant and the year lord's placement.
AFTER: asterwise_get_western_transits_monthly — transits to the year lord.

birth — WesternBirthData (date, time, lat, lon, timezone, house_system). time is required.
target_date (optional YYYY-MM-DD) — date to profect to; defaults to today (UTC).

Errors
INVALID_PARAMS (local): WesternBirthData validation failures (time is required).
INVALID_PARAMS (upstream): target_date before birth → 422, surfaces as MCP INTERNAL_ERROR with the API message.
INTERNAL_ERROR: Any upstream API failure → MCP INTERNAL_ERROR
Do not confuse with
asterwise_get_dasha — Vedic Vimshottari periods, a different time-lord system.
